Debbie Walhof, M.D.

Dr. Debbie Walhof is a Pediatrician and until recently practiced in the Bay Area for almost 20 years.  She was involved in hospital based, clinic based, academia and community based projects.  Her work focused primarily on the under-served population — a population that was multicultural and often high risk.  Debbie also completed an Associate Fellowship of Integrative Medicine under the leadership of Dr. Andrew Weil. Her philosophy has always been to tweak the environment not the child, especially when it comes to the area of learning differences. Debbie serves as a Parent Leader for The National Center for Learning Disabilities,' "Parents as Advocates" initiative.

Debbie Walhof’s journey into the arena of learning differences has been both personal and professional.

First and foremost, she is a parent and believes that all children need to be in an environment that helps them blossom and be the best they can be.  Her son Jack is 11 years old and has Dyslexia. It is a journey for him, their family and those involved in his education.   In her words, “the field of education just likes the field of healthcare needs to undergo a paradigm shift: a shift that supports multiple styles of learning.”

In her own words: “Advocating for childrens' needs and allowing their spirits to shine is my heart and passion.”
